Water was perfect, clear and 0.9m on the gauge by the bridge. Second time I have been here and I will be back, just a bit early I guess, no salmon seen or contacted. Lots of trout above and below the bridge rising to a hatch (March Browns?) Many thanks.

River 0.9m nice colour. Fished hard for salmo salar but no sign. A lovely day with good company. Reasonable hatch of march browns at 1pm with some risers. Had 6 takes on a march brown spider. Lost 2 after playing, a good one near the net. Caught two 1/2 lbers at the end safely returned. A very pleasant interlude.

Fish taken at wood stream, the rock, and the top run despite water being 0.9m+.
Great day!!!

River in good order. Breezy day making casting testing at times. Fished mainly for salmon with none seen. The best hatch of march browns I have seen for years occurred at 1p.m., amazingly only a couple of risers seen. Had two pulls on a march brown nymph.

The weather was wonderful for March and the river was running very clear with plenty of height. No salmon showing anywhere but we pressed on anyway. There was a significant hatch of March Browns at lunch time. Only saw 2 fish rise and we failed to connect with any. A lovely beat though and some really helpful advice from the owner and Lynn - many thanks to both. We will return later in the season.

Better day as river .72m and able to get to fish. Took all fish on march brown spider on the point, all in lower woodstream. Fished from 11 -2 and hooked 6 but landed 3 fish of three quarter pound each. Lost one of around 2lb, silly me. All fish returned.
Fished for Salmon at rock down to chine with intermediate line and usk grub with no takes. John blanked.
Heavy rain by 4 so returned home.

What a beautiful day for me to start the season! The water was quite low and clear. There were buzzards above and lesser celandines below. I fished for a couple of hours in the afternoon and started at the rock pool and then moved down to wood stream. I didn't see any fish but it was great once again to be casting a spey line into the water. There were one or two march browns hatching which was lovely to see. I went back on Sunday for another four or two. Again a beautiful day but no fish seen or caught. It's great to be back at Chainbridge and there's always next time! Thanks again to the owner, who as always was extremely helpful and friendly.

River in good nick. clear and steady at 0.80m. Arrived with a cold northerly wind. Sun came out at 1p.m.and a good hatch of olives ensued. Surprisingly trout were uninterested and no risers. Had one smash take on a wet olive but fine leader parted. No sign of salmon either but a fabulous Spring day with Buzzards and a Red Kite in attendance.

Arrived at 10am. River looked great 0.78m on gauge and clear. Great to get some exercise with the 15fter. In spite of a mild day, only a very light hatch of march browns and olives. Only a couple of risers and no sign of salmo salar. Magnificent Red Kite seen just as we were packing up.
