Started well with an early 8lb barbel, but hot, bright conditions and a dropping river soon slowed things down. We fished into dusk with no further action. A nice beat with good access; will almost certainly be back when there's some fresh water and a bit less sunshine!

River was low and clear and a very bright sunny day made fishing difficult. Both fish caught on pellets.

Our first time on this popular venue but unfortunately we were only able to fish a short session due to having to head home earlier than we had planned.
There are certainly plenty of bleak and dace present but due to shortage of time we only caught one good chub.
Whilst we were there a work party was in progress on the opposite bank and a few cars were driving backwards and forwards....like others we prefer to watch kingfishers on the opposite bank rather than traffic...
It is a shame but this fishery will become more pressurised and from what we read on the threads and have experienced this trend could spread further.
We thank the Wye and Usk foundation though and am sure they are considering this matter.

After a lovely mornings canoe trip down the Wye in the morning mist (I know anglers on the Wye despise canoeists much of the time but I enjoy both sports - rivers aren't just for fishermen to enjoy!!) with my dad we got to the river a little later than planned. I stuck it out on pellet this time and managed a ludicrously hard fighting barbel of just under 8lb on pellet. My dad didn't have the patience so kept switiching back to smaller baits where he had a lot of fun catching smaller chub up to 1lb and dace with a couple of bleak thrown in for good measure. Another lovely stretch of river. Around sun set a few rats appeared nosing though the undergrowth which was a good reminder not to leave left over bait which attracts them and also for all fishermen/women to be aware of the risks of Weils disease caught from rat urine - remember to wash your hands before eating or sucking your thumb!

First time on this beat and what a great section of river. Weather sunny with a couple of heavy showers. Fish came late in the day to feeder and pellet. Will definitely be back.

First time on fishery, very nice part of the Wye.Started fishing about 9.00am through until 6.00pm. Fish were caught throughout the day. Weather was
very warm ( only place in the country it did not rain). Water was low not much flow. Barbel from the smallest fish in the river ( about 1lb) caught by Pete up to 9.12 caught by Alan, who managed 12 fish on his first visit to the Wye. All fish were caught on Pellet and Boilie using Feeder. Very good day.
