the difficulty getting in is almost impossible, but once you find away the fishing is very good , just wish some of the flood mats and fallen trees could be removed but the Dore is my go to as its close ,
all the fish were all rising so a stealthy approach is needed but once on they do fight well as they know the roots to head for The 5 fish all about 10 to 12" on a 14 Adams .,

Well my wife dropped me of 11.30 am collected me at 130pm , very sunny and bright , water crystal clear and maybe a little low but fine for wading,. 2 trout [ i do not kill ] i use the American term for size as in 1 breakfast size fish and 1 dinner size fish , The only thing i would like done is not bank work but the trees across the river creating horrid piles of flood mating some of it so high you have to try and exit the river over barbed wire and brambles other wise this is a go to beat .

Evening fishing , getting to be a real challenge getting in over the brambles , barbed wire and nettles , the barbed wire hides in the other stuff { another tear in the waders } . But at the bottom end downstream once in you can walk along way upstream in the river, the fish have got wise and rise just the other side of downed trees and branches in the way but with effort and some degree of perseverance it can be very good if not a little like jungle warfare.. All taken on Adams of different sizes .

the level is good a bit on the clear side but in the deep runs quite dark so the fish can lie , tried several types of nymph as there were no fish rising had nothing not even a knock lots of very small midge flies about but no fish coming up , as a last gasp shot put on a size14 dry olive ran it across a very fast riffle as it went under got taken by the first trout, then tried an up stream run fast water but just a light ripple second cast it came up to the dry fly ,

Water levels were low so only 200m north of the bridge was explored before turning back.
South of the bridge was more promising with a few fish rising before the storm. Connected with three but they broke away before the net.
The beat is wild, personally I loved it when I could get in but no idea how we would have moved up if the river was higher since there are many deep pool sections and absolutely no management of the access points. The map says there are gates but these must be hidden under the brambles. Don't wear waders that you wouldn't mind getting a hole in.
