Good weather yesterday before the predicted Easter stormy weather. Spent the morning upstream nymphing from the South bank. Caught three, of which a pound and a half (photographed) was probably the best. After lunch drove round to fish the pool and island. It was hot and quiet with no risers or pulls. A lovely day.
The owner of the beat is thinking of installing a bridge to the island.............a good idea!

2 fish lost on dries, lots of Grannom hatching and sporadic other bits and bobs. Water still a foot or 2 too high to wade most of this beat with the stony bottom. Met the owner 'Alan' who was very enthusiastic, wanting fishermen to have a good day. He has cleared the path to the river which was a bonus.

Full on grannom hatch for a couple of hours despite a cold downstream wind, managed to miss the majority of fish or have a brief on/off but ended with three for the day which was a great result considering the conditions.

Only fished a couple of hours, missed a few but managed one each, cracking fishery, there's fast rapids, turbulent pools, deep calm sections with undercut banks an over hanging trees. what more could you want.

Spectacular beat. Building on what we learned in previous days, we concentrated on the faster water and hooked several Trout. Sadly, not one came to hand. I put it down to our barbless hooks, though lack of experience surely played a part as well.
