Arrived early with -4 degree temperature. River was falling and looked great but the water was extremely cold. Fished all day in a swim I did well in 3 weeks ago but unfortunately not a single bite this time.
Need to keep an eye on temperatures in the future but it was still great being out by the river.

After the pike today, nothing to show. Strange because clarity looked good and flow seemed good. Just one of those days

On arrival though river although high and pacy looked great ( 1.69m at Modiford ) second cast had Chub of about 4 1/2lb , then made journey over heart attack hill and fished field and one swim in woods, I covered a lot of water and some of the Chub took a few attempts before properly taking meat !
Cracking beat and first time Barbeless on here but Barbel seemed totally illusive on this trip ? Again dog peg and rope are essential. Most Chub about 2 1/2 accept 2 , all on meat .
Can’t wait to come back and try again !

Did not fish today, tried to find an accessible peg on beat 3 and 4 this afternoon but couldn't as the banks along this stretch, on the house side just to steep for me.
Will try beat 5 and 6 tomorrow.
