1 x brown trout 11'',1 x brown trout 14''. Both taken on small yellow/ brown mayfly dries from the glide at the bottom of the beat. Had to leave at 8.15pm, as the action was really kicking off. A good little beat if you are happy wading out and fishing in the river.

River was very high and only managed to catch one small Trout. Was using a 4/5 weight rod, floating line and black and orange fly. Enjoyed my time on the water and have to give a big thanks to fishing passport staff for answering my queries after hours and generally making the fishing a great experience. Will be back soon to fish the river.

Fished Dry fly and caught 2 fish. river was pleasant to fish. Tricky beat to access, down the steep overgrown steps, this should get easier when the ground dries out. Also difficult to wade across to fish from the left bank, probably easier in lower water. plenty of rising fish in the glide at the bottom of the beat.

Bright sunny clear day. There were trout rising consistently first thing in the morning and managed 1 on a dry. Soon after the fishing slowed right down as the morning went on with only the odd rise.I Fished a dry dropper and caught 2 more and losing one small trout. All trout were a very reasonable size. There was one other person fishing, when I got home I checked online and said it was booked by 1 rod which was me, and he was not parked in the car park which was strange.
So I’m not sure whether he was poaching or lost from another beat.

Arrived with only half the beat fishable due to several parties occurring on the far bank. Very little fly life or rise until the last 2 hours of light when the river came alive. Small hatches of upwings, odd mayfly and smuts with fish quite particular, only taking a brown upwing dry. Lost a further 2 and missed several rises. Far better priced stretch this season at £25.

Hot sunny day with plenty of fly life in late afternoon but no trout rising. landed one half pound trout on GB Olive Nymph.
1st time on this beat so happy with result. Lots of dogs in the river and people throwing sticks & stones on the opposite bank to cope with.
