First time on the town water beat. Plenty of water to go at but a horrible strong cold north wind made fishing challenging today. Still managed a couple of trout, the biggest about 1lb on a nymph, the smaller fish on a sedge.

Bonkers weather today. Sun, Rain, Sleet, Hail, Wind and more WIND. Fishing was hard due to the cold. Tried nymphing ... Upstream, down and across, euro nymph. A couple of missed pulls between the two of us. One small wbt to the next on silver beaded oyster Shetland spindrift slayer. No other fish seen. Kingfishers, skylarks provided pockets of entertainment. Very grateful to have brought pork pies and hot tea to the river bank.

One caught on a Silver Surfer dry fly and two on a March Brown wet. Huge March Brown hatches at times. Lovely to be out on the water whilst the sun was shining. A bit too cold when it wasn't!

Full on grannom hatch for a couple of hours despite a cold downstream wind, managed to miss the majority of fish or have a brief on/off but ended with three for the day which was a great result considering the conditions.

A strong and cold wind made this very tough to fish. There was a very good hatch of LDOs with one or two risers. Our fish came to dries and spiders. I lost a cracker at the net. Just a note to say that access to this beat is pretty awful.
Fishing Passport Note : The new fishery owner has put plans in place to improve the access.
