The weather was bright and sunny, but the morning frost persisted through most of the days fishing. Nothing showing, so the fish were caught on small nymphs fished deep.

A blank ! But what a beautiful stretch of river - a pleasure just to be out on it. Whatever nymphs I tried were either wrong or cast to the wrong place - my fault and hopefully I will come back.

Good to be back on the Irfon after 8 years. Water height looked good, no rising fish. Hard going.

2 Trout, 3 Grayling

Great to be back, nothing rising all day. Hard going today, my banker pools seemed devoid of grayling, just small trout. Finally encountered a few grayling after lunch, all a decent size, sadly only 2 stuck both big grayling.

3 Trout, 2 Grayling

A lot of leaves, literally millions over two days, made fishing difficult. Very disappointed to find the first two swims downstream of the church had fallen trees which rendered them unfishable. Given these swims have the deeper, steadier flow they are very different from the rest of the stretch and it would have been nice to be able to access them. The trees had clearly been in the water some time.
