Arrived at river at 9am it was in perfect condition after yesterday’s rain up about a foot & holding nice bit of colour. Wayne hooked small sewin by the parking area & returned on flying c. I lost one soon after.

We fished through the Crewil pool. Wayne lost a nice sewin about 3lb carried on through the pool. Wayne hooked & returned a salmon about 5lb then he hooked another & returned about 10lb. What an enjoyable mornings fishing. We both can’t wait to return to the stunning beat.

2 Salmon, 2 Sea Trout

Heard lots of sea trout jumping but they are not easy to catch. Just managed one fish on a Black and silver needle fly, which was returned.

One good trout at dusk. No sea trout seen or heard.

1 Trout

No fish caught. Fished for 2 hours from 7am til 9am. Moved 4 sewin in the crewil pool all good fish between 4lb & 8lb using small lightweight flying c. Went through again with small brown trout rapala moved 3 more but all around the 2lb mark. Had very enjoyable couple of hours fishing.

Fished from 11:30 pm until 4:00. The conditions seemed OK but the river was perhaps a little low and there was no moon so it was very dark. We heard a few splashes in the dark but these sounded more like small brownies than big sea trout. There was another fisherman on the upper part of beat and we met two coming off the lower end as we arrived but I don't think they had any luck either.

River was low, not much seemed to be happening. 3 browns caught all on the dry from about 3pm - 5pm
All returned.

On the fly, river was brown and full flowing fast, small sea trout, approx 25cm

River in flood. Some fish seen but not landed. Most activity Crewil pool. Spinning and fly used.

First time fly fishing on the Towe. River was very high, which made it difficult. We ended up wading further downstream of the Crewill Pool where the river meanders. There seemed to be plenty of fish, but not much luck catching them. I only caught one small sewin on a blue flash damsel pattern using intermediate line in the late afternoon. Beautiful fish. Hooked a few bigger ones but didn't land them. Fantastic day though, plenty of wildlife to enjoy and stunning location. Access to the East bank of the river was very poor. Had to carve a route through head high weeds for a long way.
