With the Ross gauge showing 3.35m, I arrived soon after lunch with low expectations. I have never seen the river so high and turbid, but I walked the bank and found two or three swims that seemed just about fishable. It turned out to be a very good session with nine barbel coming to the net, most in the last couple of hours of daylight. All on feeder and pellet and nearly all in the 5 - 7lbs range. Never say die!

Gave it a miss due to high water and miserable weather..

heavy rain night previous. quite weedy and lots of debris. rising river.
nil return but gorgeous scenery.

Despite the river being in pretty good shape still struggled to find the fish.Third swim produced the fish late on and all caught on flavoured meat ledgered close in .

We caught 12 Barbel to 8lb 13oz & 8 Chub to 4 1/2lbs

4 anglers, and river up a bit again. Barbel all on pellet feeder, reasonably close in.

4 Barbel all to M.T. - his first ever barbel after two previous blank trips in flood condition. Good result in challenging conditions. All on pellet and corn.

River rose about 12'' during the day but didn't effect the fishing, all 3 of us caught so a good day all round. Main bait pellet but some on meat. Stayed at the Pilgrim Hotel, very comfortable, excellent food and good selection of beer!
