Afternoon session on a overcast warm day. Water had a lot of colour after a period of rain from the previous night. A few fish rising as I approached the river and took 2 healthy 12" fish within the first half dozen casts. Walked the water looking for feeding fish to target another 4 taken over the next couple of hours biggest being around the 16" mark. Think I may have started too late in the day, but lovely day to be on the river.

Fished the morning, water levels low and very sunny. Had two Browns of no real size on beaded nymphs. Very little surface activity and not much fish action either. Had a great mink encounter with a very inquisitive little chap and nice kingfisher fly past. Very nice secluded lower section to the beat with a very friendly fishery owner in the farmer.

Late afternoon start on a warm overcast day. Started off with the klink and dink method that produced 3 healthy 10" fish in quick succession, all on the hares ear nymph. A baron 2 hrs came to an end with a lovely 16" fish, again on the nymph which lept out the water at least 6 times before tiring and being netted and returned safely without any hand contact. As the sun dropped the spinners were on the wing and the fish were obliging. 5 more 10" to 12" fish returned and many more lost or missed. I love evening this time of the year.

Stunning beat, we'll definitely be back. Fished the duo through all the riffles and seams. This was my friends first fly fishing experience and after we spent a bit of time perfecting his casting in the morning, he hooked and landed 3 WBT. The first of which was about a pound-a stunning first fish! The others were both much smaller but a very good first day all in all! I tried a bit of dry fly fishing but there was only the occasional very sporadic rise. All fish caught on a gold headed hates ear nymph below elk hair caddis.

River a bit dirty after overnight rain , clearing in the afternoon. Fishing picked up afternoon, 3 browns on dry fly.

No sign of any fly life at all yet beautiful day. Managed five fish but hard earned, catching on size 18 + 20 nymphs.

1 small brown trout caught on a dry fly. Many missed! No fish taken. Beautiful beat and a fantastic day out.

A nice day on this beautiful stretch of water, although there weren't many fish the scenery made up for it. Look forward to returning.

A pleasant afternoon fishing. Good access in a great environment. Had a number of takes and had one 1lb trout on a ptn.

Arrived late morning bright and sunny 15 degrees, encouraging to see hawthorns on the wing (but not on the river) and a few rising fish to flies unknown so decided on a dryfly afternoon but couldn't tempt any to variety of offerings. Switched to ptn for almost immediate small wbt but persevered with dries, breeze came up to hamper presentation but could still find sheltered spots. Lots of variety in the odd flies coming off but went cool about 5:30 and a hoped for rise didn't materialise. Water clear and lowish. Lovely day in lovely surroundings despite few fish, buzzards, wagtails & otter.
