10" fish on nymph dropper water very low. not an easy beat to fish, steep banks and upstream one quarter of beat virtually unaccessible that being said it is the Usk so plenty of fish on the water that is accessible.

5 trout caught of 12 to 15 inches, and 5 more lost including (of course) a big one. Interesting beat with varied and good-looking habitat, only marred a bit by difficult access through trees and numerous electric fences. Some big fish visible, for sight-fishing, right under the high bank. Two fish caught on size 16 PTN during day; good rise (what on? a size 14 Klinkhamer olive worked) and most of the hook-ups from about 7 to 9.30 pm.

Despite overnight rain, no significant increase in water height. Weather dry and sunny with SE wind. No fish rising during day ( fished 11am - 4 pm). A couple of nervous takes to GRHE. One small fish returned. Hard work!

Slow start, but found rising fish from around 11:00. Wind made it tricky but some great sport in the end with a couple of 2 lb'ers included. Most fish caught on dries - some on nymphs fished just beneath the surface
