First time to this beat and fabulous location and setting. Sunny intervals with a cold, stiff wind made the fishing challenging at times. 5 fish caught and returned - 3 around 12" to a mix of dry fly (smallish CDC brown sedge) and various nymphs. Plenty of fish rising through the day but very picky.

I don't think the temperature got above 12 degrees however what a great beat,These trout are pretty spooky saw plenty of dark shadows darting away, only saw 4 rising did manage 1 on a size 20 Deer hairs emerger. plenty of insect when the sun did show its face.
Access is hop over a sheep wire /barbed wire fence on most of the lower beat but there is a metal gate roughly in the centre but once in the river apart from a few trees across all fairly negotiable and easy wading. Will definitely be back on a warmer day, great fun.

Lovely day on this beat. The wading is easy but slippy in places due to the build up detritus in shallow sections. Although trout were showing on the surface all over the beat and lots of insect life, we found they were taking emergers rather than duns. We caught parachute style flies in smaller sizes.
