No luck with Salmon. Switched to trout when they started rising to a small hatch. Landed one. Missed others. Nice day.

Began fishing around noon with a cold wind blowing upstream. River still low and few fish showing despite sporadic hatches during the afternoon but managed 6 between us on emergers and nymphs in the faster water.

Too bright, too cold, too low, too clear. Ineptitude may also have been a factor. I note that previous correspondents have generally been catching off the top. The cold wind put paid to any hatch; with all fish taken on deep-fished nymphs.

It was one of those perfect days. A crisp frosty morning quickly turned warm and sunny. We only fished from 10:30 until 14:00 on the very bottom part of the beat. Numerous grayling were caught in the last riffles and trout caught in the upper rapids. One salmon parr also caught (a first!). There was a sensational hatch at one point where for 15 minutes the water was alive with mostly grayling taking march browns. Most grayling caught on small green french nymphs and the trout on large stone fly nymphs. We sadly had to leave at 14:00 to catch a flight.

Icy cold wind blowing up river made for a short fishing trip. No fish showing, one grayling caught and returned and a pull from another on two down stream wet flies fished across and down, A beautiful location but needs more sun than today had to offer.

Lovely spring day though casting tricky at points in the gusting wind. Two small trout and four Grayling, one a good size. Little rising but six fish caught plus others missed. Signals the river is gearing up.

Early hatch of granom and good hatches of LDO and March browns later. Windy conditions made presentation upstream difficult. Fish to just below a pound.

Weather was spot on, although a fitful and chilly upstream breeze kept the upwinged flies from hatching in any numbers, although the odd few did take to the air. However, these were unfortunately few and far between and not enough to tempt the fish to look upwards. Therefore fished deep with the usual flies (GRHE/PT nymphs) in order to present flies to the fish, which were all in excellent condition and gave a good account of themselves in the slightly high water still pushing through. The trout might've made 3/4lb, the largest grayling around 1lb, with the smaller grayling in 6-8oz bracket.
