Hard work. Lots of algae in the river making the wading very slippery. Managed a surprise sea trout on nymph towards the bottom of the beat. Very cold for late April.

Lots of big salmon 10+ lbs following my spinner in but not going for it, landed a lovely brownie around 2lbs on worm, and 2 small sea trout about 1.5-2lbs on a small silver mepps spinner. All released to be caught another day! The tawe is very lively atm especially by the bridge in ystalafera oppsite Asda! You can see the salmon from the bridge. Plenty of silver slabs jumping every few minutes!

River very low. Overwise conditions were good - lots of fly life hatching in lower part of the beat. But not a single fish or rise seen in 3hrs
