Lovely stretch and really easy access...caught 3 x trout on GRHE nymph within 30 mins, then nothing .
Fished from 17.30-21.00, nothing rising.

Over cast and warm on this wonderful beat. My first time here. Worked the lovely glides and flats about 500m up stream of the bridge. I x 10” WBT. Tried a dry both rusty Klinkhammer and pale yellow watery. Must have had 5 or 6 connections but landed nothing. A great day despite failing to land my bites.

Note to Booking Office. I met Peter who works at the post office. Had a coffee in their lovey cafe before I started. He was charming but mentioned that fishermen are using the post office car park at the rear. It’s a small tight car park so they would rather fisherman parked on the road about 10 M down from the post off rice. I said I would pass this info on to you.

Much more successful evening than Monday.
Lots of fish rising to a dry the in the tails of pools.
Top section particularly lively.

Useful bit of river this when levels are low elsewhere.
Very warm evening, fish rising never managed to connect with any of them, due to my ineptitude

Very hot day, low water. started out early but just too hot gave in to the heat

Difficult day......low water, hot and bright, public present playing in river..........waiting for a rise which never materialised.....nymphs did the trick in the end........difficult day....but a beautiful river.

Lots of hatches on a cloudy, muggy day and some great runs for wet fly & slow pools for dry fly, despite the river being lower than we've ever seen it. Fished the upper River Wye north of Rhayader yesterday, and the river was on its bones. But Glan-yr-Afon is still in good shape despite the ongoing drought-like conditions. I caught one on Waterhen Bloa about half way up the beat, around 6oz in a beautiful run. My brother tried the dry fly and managed to rise a few fish, but the hook wouldn't set! Superb setting to fish in, and the wildlife us remarkable: buzzards and heron flying directly overhead, and some chicks recently fledged dodging in and out of the overgrowth. All in all, a great session - but we desperately need rain, and lots of it!!
