Fish in a fussy mood, but quite active at times. 3 smaller trout caught, several larger specimens lost.

Overcast, no rain. River level good and clear.
Fished the lower beat in the morning. Sporadic rising fish but tricky to figure out what they were taking ... In the end most interest achieved from small dry flies (bwo, iron blue dun and dhe). 3 fish to 1.5lb landed on dry fly from The Little Stream. Two others hooked and lost while euro nymphing. Fished above the bridge in the afternoon and into the evening. Lots of sport. Several missed takes, three fish hooked and lost, and one to the net. Lovely beat, very welcoming. Varied water and lots of wildlife to add to the enjoyment.

Caught One Small Brown Trout And Two Little Perch, All Return.

Decent flow and quite a bit of fly life including a couple of Mayfly. Not much rising,I fished duo and all came to a small nymph.

Absolutely stunning spot will definitely be coming again. And the fishing hut is brilliant .

Very hard day,probably the worst I’ve had on this beat,,,only 2 fish and about another 2lost.
Going down to a 18# ptn,with 2mm copper beads was the only thing they fancied.
I think the constant booking of this beat almost every day for the last fortnight is the reason it’s hard! We need rain also.

2 good sized trout: 1 around 1.5lb and the other perhaps 1lb. Both taken on a Prince Nymph, in the rough water below the weir near the top of the beat.
