Very little rising although there was a lot of flies hatching, shame I didn’t have enough time to fish the evening rise.
Had 2 small trout on nymphs

Tough day, low water. No fish

Best fish of 2lb. Most caught on a nymph. Fish rising but challenging on the dry.

3 trout all around the 1lb mark , but very hard fighting fish. Lost a slightly better trout on the dry and briefly hooked another 3 with nymphs. Low water made trout a bit spooky during the day, and the public footpath doesn’t get very busy( saw only a few people all day ) which is a massive bonus

Nice stretch of river with lots of dog walkers during the day. All quiet at night. Lots of fish rising.

The were some nice fish up stream of the beat in the deeper water .. they wasn’t feeding on the mayfly’s but I could see there fins coming up on the surface I had a couple of takes on a nymph but nothing landed .

Lovely river! First visit to this beat. Dry. Clear water. A few fish rising and a few mayfly, but fish not interested. Tricky wading, but easier with wading stick. Tried a variety of flies and leaders without success.

It was the last May bank holiday weekend and a group of 3 families and their children were floating down the river in inflatable rings - can't blame them as it looked like fun. It didn't affect us too much - we went upstream of them and they left after a few hours.
