River seemed to have dropped a little but still plenty charging through. Fishing was slow in the morning so moved upstream to snare my only fish, a 6lb barbel on single 4mm ledgered halibut pellet.

A tricky day, which I had expected after reading the recent catch returns for this stretch. Caught my new personal best barbel so I came away very happy. It's a beautiful place to spend a day and it's very accessible.

River had come up quickly over the day before and was still rising fast, logs and debris coming down. Really enjoyable day but a bit challenging, managed to winkle out some nice chub and roach from the margins.

Very low water level and foul weather conditions meant huddling under shelters and not roving to find the fish. Barbel on krill boilies and chub on meat and a tutti fruiti pop-up!

A difficult and disappointing day with nothing until late afternoon. Searched the whole of the best below the bridge with various methods but just very hard going. Water levels low.
