Robin red pellets and cage feeder, hard going but an enjoyable day.

Great session. Fished from 6am to 2pm. All barbel between 5lb and the best at 7lb. 2 that felt bigger were lost. All fish caught on Manilla boile,

Just stayed for the morning. Just returned to fishing after decades and managed to catch my first barbel today. 6lb and I am over the moon. Lost 4 others but caught a few chub, 3lb being the best. Lots of bites missed. Luncheon meat and boilees both worked well. Will be back. Kingfishers, egrets, buzzards and red kites all put in a appearance.

Great fishing from 6am for 3 hours then very slow- maybe the heat. Other was an eel of about 2 lb.

Really tough day! High expectations due to a trip here just a week ago, which seemed to be confirmed by all 3 of us catching first cast around 7 am.

After an early flourish, nothing!! River switched off, no sign of any movement and no matter what we tried we couldn't locate them.

Still, a beautiful beat which is really well maintained with great access.
