A few hours in the afternoon putting a heavy tube through the high water catches. A bit too high and coloured with 2’7” on the Llanstephan gauge, but quite fishable.

Pleasant 3 hours with a few olives coming off just after mid day, but no sustained hatch.
All but one came to traditional winged wets fished just sub surface. Biggest a pound but all of the fish in good condition for the time of year.

The river is pretty full of water which makes it the more daunting I find. But there was a very brief hatch at midday-ish and I found the odd fish willing to look at a jingler, one of which was a lovely fish of 2lb.

Beautiful day and beat. Very few flies around - no obvious hatch and no fish seen.

Maybe a little early in the season, with no fish rising or showing. Tried nymph and black gnat to no avail. Lots of fry and a number of dippers up and down the different stretches along with a red kite.

Perfect conditions if it wasn't for the cold, blustery, upstream wind. Good hatch of MB but with many missed opportunities.
Two Otters swam downstream, which was lovely to see. Great day but not many fish to show for it.

Nothing caught, work on reservoir on house side needs to be advertised while booking and whether anglers can access that side of the usk reservoir as I didn’t risk taking my car in that direction. A large group of kayakers , 3 minibus full accessed the sheltered Bay Area and impacted my fishing sites as high water restricted convenient access to the reservoir. Won’t be coming back any time soon!

Another wintry, drizzly old day with the river back up after yesterday’s rain. The fish were slightly more cooperative however with most coming to a jig streamer but one coming to a dry during a brief and sparse olive hatch in early afternoon.

Good day. One very sparse hatch during which I managed to get two on the dry. Nymphing notably unsuccessful when no hatch. Beautiful beat and will be back. Plenty of water to go at at 0.7/0.6 but quite a lot of fflow
