Never seen the river so low at this time of the year (0.931 Monmouth). Worked all the way down from metal steps to boat pool with flying c and fly. One take on fly but failed to connect.

A water temp of 5.4c meant that it was highly unlikely that we would find feeding barbel so we fished small
maggot feeders and after moving swims eventually found a shoal of chub that were obliging. 8 fish (two +5lb)

Too cold for barbel so instead dug out the pike rods and had some limited success with ledgered deadbaits. 3 pike to +14lb plus

3 Pike, 1 Other
