A bit disappointed to find a tractor/trailer and mini digger in the river from the opposite bank extracting shingle but they left shortly after arrival. Took a couple of hours before the first bite but we managed 2 barbel each which we were well pleased with given the weather.

1 x small chub & 6 eels. Excellent stretch of river to but unfortunately very heavy rain and thunderstorms all day made fishing difficult. Eels seemed to like it though.

Lovely Stretch, shame that so much of the River was inaccessable due to thick undergrowth. Steaming hot day made for very hard fishing but managed 1 Barbel on Pellet.

WUF note - This beat has 9 cut swims along it's length. Please see the beat gallery on the website beat page. Undergrowth has been allowed to grow along areas where the banks are too high to fish from. Anglers are encouraged to cut their own swims should they wish to fish outside of the areas prepared.

Another hard day in bright sunshine. One barbel and two chub before 11am and then nothing till 4pm. Caught another 8 barbel between us from three different swims towards the bottom of the stretch. All fish fell to pellet. Best fish about 8lb.

A dificult day in hot sunny conditions. We struggled during the day with only one barbel caught. However sport improved from 7pm onwards, although eels were active when fishing meat. It is always a pleasure just to be here regardless of the sport and I was pleased to see the new swims cut out. We look forward to trying these in future.

All fish caught on feeder using pellet on the far bank after the canoe traffic had died down. Nothing near side.

Another stunning stretch - less accessible swims than the other stretches we fished but there are certainly enough to go at. Again struggled on a low clear river but persevered and managed to get three nice Chub in the end from the faster water. Great weekend - must have seen easily 50 Salmon leap out of the water over the three days. Despite what some reports say if you follow the maps and the instructions you can't go wrong. Thank you Wye Usk Foundation
