Great fishing when the river started rising mid afternoon. Lovely fighting fish

Gary's first trip ever to the Wye and he nabs a DOUBLE ! Weighing 10.2, I haven't had a Wye double in 21 years of trying !
His back up fish weighed 8.8, 8.10 & 7.14 all on boilies/ groundbait feeder

I had a 9.2, 7.14 & a 5.5 plus one chub all on meat/groundbait feeder.

Bit a colour in the water and slightly above normal summer height

Andy the river keeper was very helpful

A disappointing and slow day. River dropping quickly. Most fish caught on meat.

Caught fish throughout the day. Great to see Andy the gamekeeper who always gives good advice. River in good condition and falling but still with some colour.

8 Barbel, 3 Chub, 3 Other

An enjoyable day on a lovely stretch. Almost perfect conditions with the level dropping and good colour to the water. Slow during the day but a hectic final 90 minutes. Others were dace.

10 Barbel, 4 Chub, 2 Other

River was up a good metre and pulling through hard. 5oz feeder was just holding bottom in near side flow. Lost a barbel in the afternoon so would have been 3 barbel. Ended with 2 barbel 8Ib 2oz and 8Ib 3oz. Chub were all between 3Ib 8oz and 5Ib 9oz.

Good days fishing and can’t wait to get back.

River conditions were terrible, fast high dirty water, however decided to try a swim at the lower end of the beat where a big eddy had formed. To my surprise first cast produced a Barbel of 6lb 1oz, this was followed by six other fish to 8lb 2oz. Three eels were also taken during the day
