Tough day with cold, rising and coloured water after heavier than expected overnight rain. A nice Chub came early on and a mid double Pike late afternoon. Love the venue and hope to be back in more favourable conditions.

Cold and still and the river was around 1.3 at Ross. Bread flake and cage feeder accounted for all 3 fish.

Fishing a maggot feeder we had the surprise grayling in the morning and the chub, around four pounds at dusk on a cheese paste hook bait. The water was brisk and coloured but by no means in flood considering the season.

It was nice to be on the riverbank again although conditions were such that only a few swims were accessible. One small chub at the end of the day saved the blank .

River was rising with a fair bit of debris coming down but was still confident fishing the pool at the bottom of the beat. Sadly no action but I had a great day anyway! The view is stunning. Thanks W&U.

Very finicky bites to start the session but did manage to connect with one and it turned out to be an eel {tackle destroyer}, no bites till later in the afternoon but had 4 nice chub later biggest 6.5lb. All fish on meat and straight lead tactics.

4 Chub, 1 Other
