Very enjoyable days fishing

10 Trout

Quiet till evening then river switched on. Lovely stretch of water. Over 10bwbt up to 10 inch on parachute Adam's.

River is still slightly coloured. The extra water improved the fishing with most trout taking the nymph. Nice fish up to 13" caught. Only fished the first few pools from the bridge upwards over lunch time.

Wet and windy day on the river. Trout in the range of 7" to 14" caught. River is very low but has some nice deep holes. Most trout came to the nymph.

No fish caught. Beautiful surroundings and wildlife. Water level too low.

Fished for three hours, 12 to 3, overcast, a bit chilly and light drizzle. The odd rising fish: two to the para-Adams, 10" and 8". Although the fish were not rising, there was the odd mayfly coming off the river.

River low. Many of the usual lies not holding fish and lack of flow and clear water made fishing challenging. This is a lovely beat though with plenty of fish, reasonable wading and sufficient room to cast. A steady mixed hatch all day. 8 wbt caught and returned, all on dries (pale watery dun and F-fly) most between 6"-9", one approaching 12".
I ended the session on the top section of the beat. Worth jumping in the car and giving it a go.

Small trout, 7 - 8 Inches, one other lost. Very pretty stretch of water.

1 Trout

Water very low and clear but as usual an abundance of fly life. Very few fish rising so fished a nymph on a Tenkara rod. Trout were in the faster runs into deeper pools. Best today a fine 12 inches from under the bridge.
Also fished the top section today which only has a couple of fishable pools at the moment, one of which produced 3 trout.
