Mooched off to the Lugg best this morning , early bells ,fishing a neighbouring club water before the WUF section , breezy this morning and overcast reading twelve degrees in my truck ,initially opting for tiny tungsten nymphs. . . . .

River has a reasonable flow but so clear and wading had to be at a snail's pace this morning, seriously hard fishing, that and the crazy growth thats over much of the decent pools now , a real mess to be honest !!!! And a lot if pools totally altered and reshaped, some for the better !

On to the fishing , had five on the club beat prior to starting at the bottom of the wild stream permit beat , and a fun morning already, three on nymphs , two.on parachute iron blue, lovely takes too !!!the motion continued on the upper WUF beat ,although the hard bit was finding a pool you could get the dry out onto with decent presentation!!!! It's a bit like the Arrow ,Monkland beat here at the mo !! Still ,i persevered up stream , and with carefull wading was rewarded with eight beauties this morning , raging in size from.five to eleven inches , always got a good fight in them the Lugg brownies , great fun !!!

With the wild growth, it sort of spoilt the morning too be fair , this needs a good haircut, big time , only did half the beat , then cut out nearly opposite Litton Farmhouse , and headed straight up the fields back to my truck, and a quick drink and snack before heading home, a fun six hours on the Lugg ,cracking stuff !!! A wild Llyn I think next week, with these rivers so low , happy days !!!

Shopping done early , few chores done at home then mooched off to the glorious Lugg . . . Opted for the Litton beat , as fished a club water mid morning also , it backs on to the bottom end of the Litton beat more or less , had some suoerb fun there on Para dries , and equal success on the Litton beat . . . .

Sport was pretty hectic to be honest , and working a small iron blue Para , or an Adam's, in the likely haunts brought a savage take great fun as always , and beautifully spotty brownies as always, each slightly different , superb!!!!!!

The rises that started to increase from half two brought fish to hand also, with carefull casting of the Parachute Adam's, fish hit it hard !!!! Brought ten to hand on this beat , a fun four hours , and a fun day all in all , loved it , with all fish to the dry , cant beat it , bit difficult presenting it ag times , as was pretty blustery on and off but still a nice day after the short downpour this morning !! River a little low , but still running well and the pools there are always a good bolt hole with many very very deep ones here . . . . .

Back to this little cracker again before the season is out , spot on , nice wind down as always . . . . . . . .

River low and clear with reasonable flow. No sign of fish, not even fry, other than a couple of smasmodic rises. Tried nymphing and dry to no avail, but an enjoyable day on an attractive lookin beat.

Well a few hours to kill before mowing this afternoon , and doing a few garden jobs while the weather is decent , so opted for the Lugg , Fishing the WUF and a section of club water . . . .

Nice weather when I parked up at Lower Litton Farm , had a twenty minute char tpwith the lovely lady there , I think it's important to liaise with the owners , so they know who's about , and also keep the happy rapport going with fisherman etc etcetc . . . . Headed down to the river at about tenish , muggy , slight breeze , and a bit of drizzle , petering out too nearly nothing . . . .

The Lugg brownies showing no interest in two different mayfly patterns this morning , was already a couple about , even at ten !!!! Stragglers from yesterday's party perhaps ??. So changed flies to a Parachute Greenwells , immediate response , in one of the pools , lovely confubodwnt take , cracking !!!!!

Morning went like that till I left at one , covering about half of the Litton beat , also changed to a CDC and elk , hammering that too !!! Eight lovely brownies to hand this morning , sizes ranging from six to twelve inches , gorgeous colouration , and it always amazes me how different these Lugg fish are from one to another , totally different spot and pattern formation . . . . Lovely !

The river was racing through this morning although lovely and clear considering , with a slight tinge perhaps , will be just about right in three or four days I reckon , a fun three hous , back to the lovely little Lugg very soon , maybe slip in a quick trip to the Edw early next week , between shifts !!!!!!

Well , decided to give the Lugg a bash before the impending downpour , and to be honest initially it was spot on , overcast , mild , and the brownies were hitting the Mohican Mayfly with some vigour !!!! I fished half of a neighbouring club water and half of the Litton beat , and by midday , I must admit , i was beaten by the rain !!!!

The fish were definitely looking up , and smashing the mayfly pattern , I guessed that they would still remember what a big juicy mayfly tasted like , and they were coming up from some of the deep pools , and hammering it !!!! Always tricky keeping them on , with a large barbless fly , and in a tally of eight this morning , four threw the hook , and had two long range releases . . . . . . . . . .

The fish were in cracking condition , as always with the Lugg fish , and ranged from seven to twelve inches , with gorgeous colouration as always . . . . The nearby Cascob Brook , was a real torrent by midday , and I was ready to call it a day by half twelve , some Great sport , on a dank , soggy day , back to the Ponderosa , log burner on , and a large glass of something nourishing me thinks !!!!!!! Back to the lovely Lugg very soon , great to have some decent rain al last , spot on !!!!!!

Mayfly hatching. Rose 15 trout caught 5. This beat is a riparian assault course. It needs some styles in the barbed wire fences. Don’t wear your expensive waders.
