6 chub on ledgered meat. River was rising with floodwater. Much of the access to the riverbank is impassable. Very overgrown and much worse than last year.

Two not three fished on a warmish overcast morning. River up about half a metre on normal summer level with a nice flow and a ting of colour. Cardiac hill conquered we settled on either side of the lucky stone. With the increased level this was a little tricky without waders meaning the one above the stones had to go a little further up. This put him just above a big snag and after losing two complete feeder rigs, numerous hooklengths and a couple of fish it, he moved down to the meadow where he added 9 chub to the two he got out from the stones. The stone itself produced chub steadily throughout the day fist and last things on the feeder, with everything I tried on the hook, but the bulk to pellet over pellet on the float to 4lb. Fished the last hour on bomb and bag further upstream than I could reach on the feeder. This produced the lone (mint) barbel of 6lb 15 mins before packing up. All in a great day. Hats off to whoever took a spade to the dodgy bit in the wood. Minimal change, just a few incisions for foot holds, but it's made it safe for now.
