We caught 5 Barbel to 7lb & 6 Chub best exactly 5lb.

5 Barbel, 6 Chub

Tough day fishing very cold sadly no bites today with various baits and methods used lovely day all the same I will try harder next visit !!

2 Barbel, 1 Chub

Only arrived about lunchtime and fishing this beat for a few days . No takers in the afternoon but hopefull over the next few days . A lot of colour to the water and going down . Walked down the fields as the access was very muddy and even my Toureg was having difficulties.
To be expected with the amount of rain we’ve had over the past few weeks

Hard day but did catch four chub between two of us. Walked the whole stretch and fished 6 swims trying to find the fish. River looked nice it had dropped nicely and slight colour and thankfully the rain held off.

Lovely stretch we look forward to coming back in warmer weather in the new season.

4 Chub

A well mended kelt that got the blood pumping for a moment was caught and safely released by A. Tobin.

River at a good level and water nice and clear, although wind pretty chilly for much of the day. Very few signs of a hatch although I did try mainly wets, just to mix things up after a winter of nymphing.
One nice grayling, caught in one of the deeper pools, certainly cheered me up. Probably more luck than judgement as I was lifting the nymphs to start moving to a new spot and, as ever, that movement upwards triggered a take.
Still no sign of a trout to start my season off but there is always next time.................

Very pleasing PB chub of over 6 pounds 4oz. A healthy fat fish. Fell to legered bread just off main flow.
One other chub of 4 pounds taken from a under near bank tree with a freelined breadflake.
Trotted maggots to no avail. I will definitely return in the summer.
It was nice to be greeted by Hugh, one of the farmers son who ponited out a couple of swims.

Fabulous days fishing with 2 chub caught. Lost a couple aswell but I didn’t really mind, it was just good to be there. Fish caught on feeder.
