Cracking beat. Fished tail end of fast water.the perfect swim. And tried everything. Picked up a number of decent chub and quality roach. All on the feeder. Then the 3ft twitch and a decent barbel of around 8 lbs.To finish the day off. My m8 struggled upstream a bit. That's june for ya.

Day two of are trip on the wye very first time on this beat set in some very lovely surroundings the fishing turn out good as we were unsure what to expect a very annoying side to this beat is the fact WHEN it get too around 2ish is the LOCALS COME OUT TOPLAY so putting to end of any change of continuing To fish the island and the other little annoying thing was the fact two chaps turn thinking that they can fish here as well whit out paying for it but they where soon on they way and 4x4 is a very big Advantage as the hill is very very steep but we said we will return.

The access to this beat has become appalling, the swims at the shed end are accessible but purely by use from dog walkers etc. the two fields below the wood nothing has been done, apart from 2 swims directly below the wood which i suspect visiting anglers have cleared. Then the wood section! The path from the bottom end has become as dangerous as the path from the top end, particularly carrying gear. A couple of hours with a chainsaw and a spade could make the most dangerous places a lot safer.
Chub not in the usual numbers on this section and sadly no sign of any barbel, the Otter has been busy on this section 4 fish carcasses on the rocks so maybe why.
