No fish today, but it was lovely to have a go. The lack of weed in the river is very concerning.

Started fishing at 10:30am. River in good condition and a few small up-wing flies over the water. Started with a Stimulator which took a nice trout from a fast bit of water. Around midday saw the first of a handful of Mayfly. Half way along beat noticed a good fish rise which I covered with the Stimulator, but no interest. Changed to a fan wing mayfly with success on the 4th cast only to loose the fish at the net. Estimate around 16" fish. The same happened a further up stream with another good fish. Last fish caught just below the weir. Off to Ireland next week so will try the beat again in early June.

Well thought I'd head to the lovely Cammarch again this afternoon ....up since half six ... lots of jobs nailed , and a good gym session too .... got to the river at half twelve , balmy twenty degrees abd sunny !! ... gin clear water, and like a lot of the Wild Streams at a nice height at the mo !!
Fished a Para greenwells and Iron Blue this afternoon .... fish looking up by two ... not really that much on the go .... I saw a few Large Brook duns and olives and rest was it to be honest.... ohhh the usual tiny gnats that attract the attention of small trout.... still fun to cast to !!!
Very aggressive hits when the trout do want your fly here .... they hammer it, hard as nails ! The Vinny Jones of the fish world live in the Beaulah stretch of the Cammarch !!!!lol !!
A fun few hours the fishing up past the metal footbridge is hard work and a gorge with a few trouty pools ... I couldn't interst anything in the half a dozen I put a dry in the foam lane .... not a sniff ... a long walk back but not toooo bad .... a pleasant and interesting beat ... I'll do this one again .... six made it to the net ranging in Size from six to ten inches... Great feisty scrappers.....Time for home and crack open a cool bottle of the Amber nectar.... loving this varied week on the streams..... lifes good sometimes, happy days!!!

All fish were between 20 & 30 cm and all were returned. Hard fishing. Flat calm for long periods but its a beautiful and tranquil place all be it the peace was punctuated by fast jet training and shouts of rock climbers but each of those lasted only seconds and the venue is worth the walk

I drove from London for the day to fish this beat. I think it would be helpful if fishingpassport informed fishermen that they will likely have to deal with many dog walkers who won't hesitate to throw a fetching stick in the water you're fishing. This stretch is not for those seeking an undisturbed day's fly fishing!
