Stunning water in quintessential farming country. Overcast for first time in some days which was a bonus. Didn't net any, but hooked three for varying lengths of time. One on dry fly and others on wet. All felt to be substantial fish. Next time!

Started on the river around 10am fell in by 10.30 ! even with studded boots it felt like i skied into a gutter, slippery is an understatement and that was before a beer over lunch!!
After that what a great day caught 4 nice grayling and one small trout on nymphs all safely returned, missed many more.
Finished around 4. A memorable day on more than one account .

Very tough conditions in the heat and low water, tried float fishing and ledgering but it was hard going on 30c heat. Chub all came to ledgered meat, biggest 4lb 2ozs but most around 1b. Lovely stretch of water, very picturesque and peaceful.
5 Chub
