Arrived at around 1100hrs, plenty of fast moving clear water in the river. Hatch of Olives at around midday. Managed 1 small brownie and left at around 1500hrs

Intense conditions with driving wind and rain at points. Still, great to be out on the water. 7 fish to about 17". 6 on a Captain Peacock, 1 on a ClanKate. Several other anglers out on the water, all friendly and up for a chat. All fish taken in and around the river mouth at the top of the lake.

Beautiful beat very little movement of life, caught one little brownie nothing else. Fished it too to bottom a few Timesheetguru

River high and a bit too coloured, also strong winds and rain. Trickle of March Browns around midday and saw the odd LDO. Very challenging and not surprised to blank. Tried dries, nymphs, spiders and a wooly bugger, but failed to move a single fish. Think this beat is one to probably avoid when the river is on the high - if fishing for trout that is. Almost all of it was inaccessible for wading during my visit.

6 trout caught. All on a black bead head lure. Super slow intermediate line. Shallow water at the top end of the reservoir.
