Amazing day for which 5 Grayling does not tell the whole story. I run off between French nymphing, dry fly and float fished maggot was won by the float fishing. All 5 were in the 1 -1/2 to 2lb class, the best estimated to be just over 2lb and one fish was quite dark with signs of historic Comorant damage, the rest all brightly coloured and clearly capable of growing bigger. Looking forward to returning to this beat, focusing on heavy bugs and dry fly next time.

A beautiful day, river normal for time of year but no fish! Not even a tickle! Stayed at Cottage of Content, highly recommended

One or two strong pull rounds but no barbel in the net today. Maybe the overnight chill had an effecr on the fishing.

33 x grayling 9-16 inches, 3 x out of season trout 12-18 inches, trotting. A beautiful morning, frost melting under sun. The river is pretty high, but not too coloured. The suspension bridge on the right of way, which is needed here when the river is high, currently has a 21 day closure order slapped on it by the Council as considered unsafe, which it probably is. Time for some repairs!

No fish, plenty of fish moving in the morning however. Would have liked access to one of the boats as it’s a struggle trying to find good fishing spots from the bank.

The river was high and fast. I only fished for around 2 hours due to unforseen circumstances.

I fished the euro nymphing style, close in, with a heavy black point nymph, to get down to the fish. A hares ear nymph, with a pink tag, on a dropper took the most fish. The biggest probably a pound plus, great fun in the fast water.

Deffo need a 4x4 at this time of year to get from the farm, but once negotiated the river is beautiful, 3 fishable pegs within reasonable walking distance. I tried the first one to the left, bank fairly steep but manageable. Fished from 8-30 am and had first bite within half an hour, second one connected but snagged me to the deep pool just infront of the stepping stones. Started on feeder with pellet, then tried meat and varying sizes of pellet and hook. Didn't have another bite all day which was strange as conditions seemed perfect, River was up maybe 1.5 mtr and sunshine, cloud all day. Fished until 5-30 pm but alas it was a blank.
