No fish caught today and not much fly hatching. Water certainly higher and cooler than this week last year.

Weather warm and sunny water .72m steady.
Fished margins of woodstream with Gabe Treharne who landed two nice fish on goldhead haresear and whie wulff dry.
Had to leave before sunset but had good four hour fish.
Hardly any fly life or rises which was disappointing for time of year

2 Trout

Only one taken on dry to an olive F fly. The rest in faster water on a nymph fished duo. Who knows what the Trout in the flats were taking, nothing in our boxes.

First time on Dinas , very enjoyable beat.

No joy on nymphs/wets but fortunately a small rise late on . Two sizeable trout landed and a few rises missed.
Recommended.

2 Trout

Water still very high in the reservoir restricting access to only a couple of places (wall of the dam and 5 minutes walk along the path. Very few fish rising at the start of day (5:30) but mid morning were showing near the dam..too far out for me to reach. As always, lovely and quiet and I managed to film a badger come out of the grass, come over to my waders before sniffing me and realising I wasn't a frog, and scampering off...quite a treat and made up for not catching any fish.

All fish caught on bottom despite lot of surface activity. Weather was great with very little wind and reservoir was like a mill pond in the afternoon and things went quiet around 2pm.

Lovely afternoon spent on my local water met the owners lovely couple no salmon seen , was more of a reky really having a look at the pools for when higher water arrives again . Lovely section of the river Wye very peaceful.

Total blank. Really nice beat with stunning scenery but unfortunately we didn’t see one fish rise. Walked most of the beat but only rewarded by the fantastic scenery.
