Short morning session in terrible conditions - easterly wind and bright sunshine. Had a couple of good trout fishing streamers on intermediate line.

No sign of barbel today - water temperature perhaps?

Didn't fish, too wet and swims too dangerous to climb down, ropes needed

Tough day trying to target barbel but no joy. Left before barbel o’clock as pub beckoned.
Chub on meat.

Very difficult conditions river up and still rising and belting through.

Upstream and across nymphing small & medium gold heads and tungstens on the point with various droppers worked for decent sized OOS trout and a couple of grayling all returned, I'm sure I missed lots of nibbles and plucks. No surface activity evident, no obvious hatches except occasional minute midges coming off mid-afrternoon, no rises to my dries hence resorting to nymphs. Saw a salmon making its way upstream into Armies pool.
