Only went as water showed lift on trailing gauge,,,and Brecon promenade, after Sundays rain, but dinas is on its bones .? Brecon promenade showed 0.307m yesterday then on checking when home was 0.069m! 12 pm today ,the water must be going down the canal.
Any way it was tough fishing, clink and dink and drys in fast shallow water.
Brown sludge on the stones so tungsten nymphs was not effective.
Odd fish rising up the trees, all fish up above bridge.
I finished at 3 and had enough.evening will be best it think until we have at least a foot of water on there.

Four small fish on nymphs. Good to see a few more inches of water on the Llanstephan gauge but not much insect life around and just one rising trout spotted.

Beautiful day on a lovely stretch of the Wye, all fish caught to across and down methods. Not much surface activity despite a fair amount of fly life in the evening. Thank you!

A cracking day fishing the faster water at the top of the beat. Chub to trotted meat up to 5lb. Barbel on feeder in the evening, best 7lb. One observation. All fish were carrying lice. A reflection of the water quality perhaps? Other was an eel.
I’ll be back!

A chub day!! Most fish caught on meat, bread & corn. Plenty of chub over 4lb with 4lb 8oz the biggest, while the majority were all over 3lb. A mixture of ledgering and float, but by mid afternoon I longed to catch anything but another chub.
Always a pleasant beat and chatted to very nice brothers who were fishing the stretch too.

43 Chub
