Mild start to Feb with the river at 0.5m with a good flow and a hint of colour. Had 3 nice chub early but moved after a biteless hour and a half. Started catching again early afternoon and added another 6 chub with the biggest over 5lb and the rest all a good stamp. Caught on maggot, meat and cheesy garlic dumbells. A lovely winter days fishing.

Pleasant afternoon on the river but no sign of any fish. The strong downstream wind didn't help. During some gusts it was impossible to cast upstream. I was nymphing. Initially fished the pools, but struggled to keep the flies moving, so tried the rapids, but to no avail.

The water is full and flowing but very clear.

A very sleepy river for most of the day. An unproductive morning below the bridge apart from two good size grayling from Dolmeudwy. Surprisingly, fish came onto the take very late in the afternoon with many offers to a tungsten bead GRHE in the Ferry. Couldn’t keep many of them on for very long though.

A nice day on the river with the stiff downstream breeze providing good casting practice conditions with the double hander.

Couldn’t resist coming back for a second time. Lovely river and good sport throughout the afternoon on trotted maggots. Hope to be back next year.

Beautiful stretch of river, though I only saw about the bottom quarter in my short visit of a few hours. Very peaceful with a unique church just by the river. The water was clear. Lots of flat glides, so I'll definitely return in summer, with a dry fly.
I fished a mixture of nymphs and squirmies, to no avail. I had had some bad news on the day, so wasn't fishing to the best of my abilities.

I'll be back, in a more focused frame of mind.

River was quite low and it was an overcast cold grey day. Having fished this stretch in the summer and seen a lot of both trout and grayling activity I was surprised that it was so quiet. The only place that seemed to be holding any fish was right by the bridge. Several hooked but only one successfully netted.

Great stretch of river, really enjoyable fishing. 1 pike caught for our efforts. Great day all round.
