No salmon, the river is low, saw two moving through the neck of rock pool. The trout were out in force, saw a few hatches lots of surface activity. A few had a go at my Willie gun not massive fun on a 14ft rod however, bute kept the day interesting. Should have probably booked the day as trout, as the river was full of life and gin clear.

25cm brown trout caught in glide on a Hare & Copper. Plenty activity including rises in top section of beat, though there is dense bank side vegetation making it difficult to reach.

Cracking day at Usk Reservoir, and absolutely beautiful place. First time me and my son have been and we caught 1 rainbow trout, his first ever catch. He was really happy. I think our biggest problem was that we moved around alot instead of staying longer in certain places, this was mostly down to my son who was getting inpatient lol. Overall though, definitely going back and hopefully catch more fish. Plenty was caught around us. Bailiffs were very friendly and helpful to offering advice.
