Great day. Beautiful river. A few bites but probably a bit early for grayling. Still enjoyed the day

Had to flick all the way through my "Big Book of Blank Excuses" for this one...  Couldn't really find a good one to use but was tempted to claim a VERY localised hailstorm in the Foy area, causing all the fish to swim downstream to The Creel to excuse my horrendous angling.

River was up and steady,  weather was spot on, had all the pegs to myself and despite having more pellets than Sun Valley Chickens I could not get a bite.

Tried 3 swims, different methods,  different baits to no avail, my blank being saved by a 1 pound chub last knocking who obviously felt sorry for me.

A lovely stretch of river but so difficult to get to the swims. A bit dodgey for a couple of septuagenarians. Again plenty of chub but difficult to find the barbel.

Fast flowing river. Pace a little slow. Swim feeding with ground bate and halibut hook bate.
