First outing on the wild streams this season. Quiet, only fish seen rising hooked and lost.

Sporadic hatches of March Brown in the middle of the day but failed to rise any fish to the dry fly. Occasional fish moving at the surface. 2 fish on wet flies (March Brown spider and Black Hopper) and 2 on gold head PTN. All fish returned. Plenty of wildlife including grey wagtail, dipper, common sandpiper and brief view of an otter. Himalayan Balsam seedlings starting to appear and were removed.

Two good fish lost!
Sunny intervals, low and clear water. No sign of a hatch, so persevered with nymphs.

Fly Montana. Very poor conditions. High wind rain cold.

Not a thing all day. No rises. No bites.
Bit sad there is so much hardcore in bits of the river here.

Three good sized rainbows on spinner, one smaller fish returned (looked neither like a rainbow or brown trout, but surely can't be a hybrid... possibly young rainbow?) and a couple hooked but not landed.

My 12 year old daughters first day of fishing, she caught 2 trout on spinner and had a very memorable day

Great day fishing with 10 common carp landed ranging between 12-19lb and two silvers.
