Had the 2 today a fare start to my season this year , and missed 3 , a little cold I thought today water was not to bad ether as you can see from pic the top fish topping the day at just over 18 inches but forgot to weight it

Caught one good-sized fish on CDC dry fly during brief hatch of olives at around 1.00pm. Other fish caught on PTN while waiting for the rise to get started. Fish in good condition and returned safely.

A good day for excuses. Low clear river, bright sun, downstream wind. Decided not to fish pool by bottom field due to holidaymakers. A sparse hatch at one thirty brought trout out to play but all too brief for this angler. Disappointing to note the amount of algae covering the stones of the river. Typical sign of organic enrichment.
