Our first day out this season. A fantastic days fishing on the old Clytha beat. Euro nymphing, dry fly, and spider tactics were used. Lost the first fish of the day which was an absolute cracker. Really gutted! The second fish was caught on a small olive dry fly and expected to be around a pound in weight. Lunchtime seemed the best time to fish. A few rises and a decent hatch of MBs. We had around 4 misses too. For a small beat it was fairly productive. I think there will be a decent lunch/evening dry fly session to come from this beat and I will be returning when the weather improves (it was very cold). Overall the river fished well for this time of year.

6 trout, two to 16 inches. Three on the dry dropper, one on the dry (klink), and two on the euronymph.
March Brown hatch 1310 for only around 10 minutes, but chaos for that period. A slow trickle hatching off 1230-1600.
