2 anglers fished for 5 small chub. This location is beautiful but it's alot of money to charge for 5 fishable pegs on the full mile stretch. I get it's a river but more pegs should be cut out for anglers. The only part with pegs was the middle field. None at the top end and none in the bottom field. I wouldnt recommend it to anybody coming with more than one person. Maybe something for the wye and usk to look into with the land owner ? This is the only time I have been slightly disappointed as every venue I have fished has been fantastic.

Fishing conditions wasn't great this time round as water level was abit lower than usual, with water on the place turns out double figures on chub and barbel ranging in all good weights managed to bank myself a nice 6lb barbel at the start of the session and also a healthy looking chub of around 5lb

Mainly sunny and generally calm with an intermittent upstream breeze. Little fly life today with just a few PWs in the morning and some Yellow Mays (which may have accounted for the odd slashing rise as fish hit rising emergers?). Unlike Abernant earlier in the week, little sign of midge or sedges and also few rising fish. I've never fished Ty Newydd when it is quite so low, so had the opportunity to spend more time in a few, normally rather less accessible spots. At this time of year, when grayling in particular are looking up and about, they will often take small emergers, as was the case today when most fish taken were non-risers. Most fish caught, rose to a size 18 / 16 pale HE Duck's Dun with fewer on a small HE emerger, and one on a HE spider - intended to spend more time fishing spiders but just didn't get around to it! Apart from a number of 12-13" ladies, most grayling were from this year's abundant 9-10" year class, with others jagged or long-distance released. Trout from 8-16" and three salmon parr. An interesting day's fishing.

As this was our first time at Wyebank RJ and I started at the top and worked our way down. We didnt get far as small barbel, chub and (good size!) dace were obliging from the start on trotted corn. MF stuck with feeder and boilie losing a 4lb ish barbel at the net and landing a 3lb chub that took on the drop! Lots of bites (to 15mm boilie) but they seemed to be from smaller fish. Thank you to the owner and WUF for access to this lovely part of the Wye.

My second time on the Towy upstream from Rhandirmwyn. A clear sunny day. Water very clear. 1 beautiful 14" brown trout caught on a CDC dry fly size 18 (barbless and returned), 8'6" rod, 12 foot tapered leader and 6x tippet length. This was one of only two rises I saw over 6 hours and took 30 minutes of stalking! But fantastic fun on a really wild river - no bank management visible!

Fished from 7am until 10am.Conditions difficult due to cold air temperature. (7 degrees) and then brightness when the sun warmed things up. Some good sedge hat he's as things warmed. Should have switched to a nymph rather than dry fly. This is a wonderful stretch to fish though and I shall be back next season.

Hot and Bright. No fish caught, but good day out. There were some rises around midday, on the north side near the rock face where it seems to get deeper, quicker. Only had a floating line with me, so limited options but tried to get deeper with some weighted wet flies and buzzers, no joy.

A beautiful Bank Holiday saturday, river was low and coloured but sport was steady all day. 2 of us fished the Steps pegs with pretty decent bank conditions & apart from an armada of canoes between 2 & 3 pm it was pretty quiet and certainly didn't spoil the day in any way. Chub from 1 - 5lb were a plenty but the elusive Barbel failed to put in an appearance. Fish were in lovely condition and had a good chat with the water bailiff / owner. Thoroughly recommend booking this beat & we will have to go back and get in to those Barbel.
