Difficult spot for me, not very experienced at fishing or wading. It’s really narrow and casting was almost impossible for me. Caught a lot of trees and undergrowth but no fish. I learned a lot about wading and I’ll be getting a walking stick before next time.
The best access is via the public footpath at Tan Campsite, cross to a bridge in the corner of the field and then you’re half way up the beat. I made the mistake of trying to go in lower and had to negotiate a lot of barbed wire.

I had done a recce on wyebank so kind of knew to travel light and take my ab sailing gear to get down to the river. After reading some catch reports I decided to start on the float i had about ten fish then it went dead so I went on the feeder , I ended up with 25 barbel to 3 lb and 7 chub to 3.8 lb. really enjoyed my last day and was good news after two hard days

Fishing:Trout (Stillwater)

Although we enjoyed a lovely day fishing on the Usk , it was spoilt for some time due to the Army having canoe training on the reservoir and were quite close to were we were fishing , which wasn’t helping the fishing at all , once they left we did catch 2trout , so it made up for the earlier disruption. Otherwise it was a beautiful day spent in a beautiful location and look forward to returning again soon .
