Went back here looking for the carp, unfortunately only caught 5 small roach. when we fished here 2 years ago we saw high numbers of carp swimming and feeding, this time I saw zero carp, has something changed here?? probably won't return here.

Fishing was again very tough and two anglers on other bank were also struggling
River is low and there doesnt seem to be any stramer weed which is v strange for this time of year . Given how difficult it is to catch i am a little suspicious of the water quality. 4 very small chub a verty poor return for two hard days fishing. Also access to redbank 1 needs updating as you cannot ealk along the described tree line as ghe farmer has crops to the edge so have to ealk all around ghe wheat field and past the lower beat. Over the stile the field is completely overgrown making swim access v difficult

First time on this picturesque stretch. I noted that a recent feedback on this beat noted campers in the lower field. Not there this time but evidence was there both in the field and on the river bank. Discarded cans, bottles, pans, bbq residue etc etc. I feel sorry for the farmer and I cannot understand how people sampling the nature can leave the place in such a mess. Rant over.
The water level was good, no neck high nettles as has been my recent experience elsewhere, real mountain stream fishing.
Even space here and there to do an overhead cast! No rising fish but two nice trout on a nymph - both live to bite another day. Only spent 3 hours and I will be back to try the full length of the beat. Lovely spot.

A couple of hours spent in the evening trying to catch a wild brownie. Alas - no luck - Did not see a single rise or evidence of any fish. The weather was mixed with some pretty heavy showers. My first blank in Wales !!

River initially running fast from overnight rain, diminishing to a more leisurely pace around noon.
Weather was overcast, with a sunny spell at noon.
We fished at the downstream end of the beat where there Is a standing wave of white water. Access is via very precarious footpath ...
The swims are full of natural rock hazards and I fishing over that standing wave of white water, lost swimfeeders to it.
Method - 10lbs main line with size 10 hair rig hooks & Medium weight free running swimfeeders. I had a 4" paternoster on my swimfeeder, and switched to 1oz arsley bombs to easy snag recovery from my swim.
Bait - 15mm boilee, I had pineapple flavour, my mate was using krill flavour, (as was his groundbate) with hemp groundbait for me.
We had 1 roach to 6 oz approx, with the Barbel to about 3 & 4lbs approx. The largest chubb was approx 3lbs. I had a 2.5lbs chubb at 8am but most of our Fish were caught in the afternoon, with the best number from 2pm. We had to leave at 5 but we reckon the swims would have been good to catch fish till sun down. Next time we will go for a session to start from 1pm till evening, and skip the early start !

The beauty of this stretch , is just shocking , the water was very low , I didn't spot or catch any Grayling , just some rare little trout ,walked and fished all day all the stretch , catch a trout keychain size , but before to express any opinion , I will fish again this stretch on autumn , at the moment big disappointment
