Low clear river, bright conditions. Barbel up to 9.4, caught from 2 swims towards upper end of beat. Around 15 decent chub up to 5.4, rest chublets. One eel. Feeder tactics with boilie, paste or pellet produced. Plenty of swims to go out, well cleared. Lower end of beat limited a little by anglers on the far bank, most fish were caught further upstream though. Good opening day!

Very difficult day for me , very low crystal clear and bright sun light , I definitely need a guide for this beat to know how to fish it in difficult conditions and best swims to fish

fished from 05:30 until 2ish. Weather was bright and clear, river was low but coloured(algae bloom?).
ended up catching chub on hemp and caster from the swims along the middle of the beat. Couldnt buy a bite on pellet of any kind Hardly saw any signs of fish on the shallows. Swims were well prepped, spoke to the guy who looks after the beat, real nice guy, gave me a few pointers. Car parking limited. there is fishing on the opposite bank too, a couple of anglers turned up as i was leaving.

Took a friend who'd never fished before out on the river for a few hours. They were blown away by the beauty. Very hot day but managed to get a couple of fish to rise and landed one decent chub

The river was very low . The 1 barbel i had was ready to spawn! Due to this i did not continue to fish on the following day.

Caught on gold eyed nymph, just below the rapids, at top of Lady Alexander's

Another very hot day, again prompting two people to take a dip in the pool beneath the aqueduct (although this time, SL from Looe, they were not both ladies, sorry! ). Caught one trout of about 1lb just above the aqueduct on a Griffiths Gnat. We also each saw mink - possibly the same one of course - along the bank.
