Stream had had a good flush through. Caught on dries

River still running high 2small trout and 1 small grayling all on heavy nymphs started to snow gave up

Great to be back by the Usk again. I hoped that the water would be just right, fining down after the rain; and indeed it was. But the fish had some other excuse this time.

I caught 3 rainbow on worm and my dad also caught 2 on worm

Weather was terrible but had prebooked so was going. Caught 1 rainbow and 4 x brownies (all returned alive).

River slightly coloured from recent rains. Not enough to put the fish off, a dozen or so from 7 to 11 inches with a great fish of 14 inches to end the late afternoon/early evening session. Several other lost and bumped. All fish took a nymph fished 'duo' style.

We were supposed to be fishing the Usk at GlanUsk, but were washed off and decided to head for Talybont instead. It worked out well in the end.
All kinds of weather thrown at us on Talybont on Tuesday. Bright sun, wind, hail... Generally a nice day to be out though and although the fishing was fairly hard, it was worth the effort. A fantastic leisurely lunch helped too.
I was fishing with Tony Reddiford and we both had 17" fish, a male for him and a hen for me. There was plenty of interest: pulls, plucks and follows to keep things interesting. We both had another fish each, slightly smaller.
The fish either came to Captain Peacocks or bibios on the dropper.
