Arrived at about 12 after driving up, decided to get in the water and fish the float and see what happened. Caught lots of little Chublets which seemed to get smaller the bigger the bait I used as well as a random 1lb Brownie who fought like a lion. Switched to leger and pellet for the last two hours and managed to winkle out a couple of better chub to around 3lb. Really enjoyable day.

Now the wrinkly subject of the track, first 80% is as claimed a solid gravel track last part however is a steep, rutted and loose. Lots of cars seemed to have no trouble but I wasn't convinced my van would get back out. So I opted to park up at the workshop and barrow my gear down. Slightly hard going but no worse then some walks to swims. Did I need to do this, who knows! But I was happy to walk.

Great day although not too many fish. We were trying for barbel but only managed a a dozen chub and the majority were juveniles but fin perfect. Beautiful location and highly recommend it but we have two nice days, which always help. Its worth having a walk around the various beats as some are very difficult to fish due to access but they will depend on the water level.

Lovely conditions, didn’t have as much time as I hoped and had to leave after a couple hours. Lost a couple on a GRHE. Beautiful beat, will return

Another fruitless morning on the Arrow. The river was slightly high and cloudy following rain the previous day but nonetheless in good condition. Access is somewhat challenging with the last mile or so on narrow single track roads with few passing places. Once again the profusion of overhanging trees and bankside vegetation make casting challenging even for someone with over fifty years' experience. Tried both nymphs and dries with no success.
