I fished early morning and late evening using feeder and pellet. The morning was very quiet, just one fish lost at the net. Evening session was much better, with one Chub landed and plenty of other bites missed. The fish switched on for about an hour in the evening, with bites coming every cast. The river was still low, even though it rained very heavily the day before. This was my first time on a fishing passport fishery, and I will definitely be returning some time in the future.

I had a look in the wood but decided to fish the second peg below it. It was quite safe in dry weather but I think you might need to be careful there in wet conditions. However, I caught 22 chub but only one barbel all on Hinders Elips pellets and 8m Robin Red. All fish came from the same swim. At one point I could hardly put the rod onto the rest before a big chub ripped off with it.
My landing net handle split at about 8pm so I had to sadly call it a day a bit earlier than I planned. Judging by the noise the barbel were making towards dusk, I would have hoped for at least one more.
It is a fifteen minute walk to the wood from the car park, with some fairly steep bits. But worth the effort.

Really enjoyed day which was cloudy and warm and river coloured. I had a PB barbel of 7lb 4oz and another one of about 2lb. Also one chub just under 4lbs and 8 others. The big barbel was caught on sweetcorn and the others on luncheon meat. All using a feeder in middle of river. Did try trotting but no good. Fished from the swim on the left bank with about 12 supported steps. Need to be careful when you get down there as it was very slippery. Only fished from 10.30 till 15.30 (when it became sunny) so much better results than I expected.

Fished Rhosgoch for 1 stocked trout of about a 1lb. Nothing much happening, tried Blaenmelindwr, had another stockie 1lb or so and missed a few small fish. Off to llyn Syfydrin in afternoon. In warm humid conditions a huge fall of flying ants got the fish stirred up, but they preferred a skated sedgehog or muddler near the margins, which were full of sedge. Around a dozen wild fish to hand, missed plenty more. Most 10 inches with a couple 12 - 13 inch.
